Summer Enrichment
INTRODUCTORY SUMMER
During the first summer at Beacon, the academic curriculum is enhanced with weekly field trips to fun, culturally significant places in New England. These include:
- Trip to Martha’s Vineyard to experience a popular summer destination spot for diverse cultural groups.
- Visit to Newport, Rhode Island to learn about the lives of early industrialists and a visit to The St. Georges School which a Beacon faculty member attended for his high school experience.
- The Liberty Ride bus tour of Lexington and Concord, MA and a visit to Walden Pond, homestead of Henry David Thoreau.
SECOND SUMMER
The Beacon experience culminates in a second summer of individually designed study and leadership development programs. We are ambitious for our students and strive to secure great summer opportunities that their future classmates may be participating in as well. Students who want to earn extra pocket money towards their secondary high school experience are supported in their job search efforts.
