Why Support Beacon

This school – this powerful and transformative learning model – would not be possible without the tremendous belief and financial support of people like you.

This 14-month experience, coupled with ongoing support of our alumni through high school, college, and into their first careers, yields amazing results. Our students are thriving in high school and graduating at a 100% rate, and more than 90% of our students go on to 4-year colleges.

They love school. They’re working hard, embracing new opportunities, and building new futures for themselves and their families.Cindy Laba, Founder

Beacon Academy provides each student with a small, superb learning environment, experienced teachers, tutors, meals, field trips, SSAT preparation, and much more. It is an education that offers opportunities previously unimaginable.

Over the years, we have learned that to ensure success of our alumni, they need to stay connected to one another and to Beacon. Each year we raise funds to support our alumni events and outreach efforts to provide social, emotional and, when necessary, financial support to graduates. Beacon faculty and staff develop relationships that continue long after graduation. The strength and reliability of these ongoing connections greatly increase each graduate’s chances for success in high school, college and beyond.

Many donors have said Beacon is one of the best philanthropic investments they can make. Over the last 14 years, our 247 graduates have earned scholarships totaling more than $55 million for high school and college. On average, a Beacon graduate receives more than $300,000 in high school and college scholarship support. Our investors have said that this 10:1 leverage sets Beacon apart from many other giving opportunities.

Please consider supporting this high impact model. Our consistent pattern of changing the trajectory of students’ lives is made possible by your generous support.
